STATE OFFICE TOWER TO OPEN MONDAY MORNING

For Immediate Release:  August 14, 2009

HONOLULU – The Leiopapa State Office Tower will reopen on Monday, Aug. 17 after being closed today and yesterday following an explosion caused by a gas leak early Thursday morning.  Power was restored to the building today, but the building remained closed to state employees and the public throughout the day.

State employees who have keyed access will be able to enter the building on Saturday if they need to.

Employees from Department of Accounting and General Services will continue to work throughout the weekend to clean up the area where the blast occurred.
