GOVERNOR'S MOLOKA`I COUNCIL OF ADVISORS TO MEET ON JAN. 9

HONOLULU – The Governor’s Moloka`i Council of Advisors will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, 3:00 p.m. at the Kulana O`iwi, DHHL / OHA Conference Room, 600 Maunaloa Highway, Kaunakakai.  The public is invited to attend.

Peter Young, chairperson of the Department of Land and Natural Resources, will update the Council on the Administration’s ongoing efforts to protect and manage environmental and cultural resources on Moloka`i and around the state, including various projects and budget and legislative priorities.

Governor Linda Lingle created councils of advisors to give the neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government. The Moloka`i Council of Advisors holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues, public priorities, and recommendations for state boards and commissions.

The members of the Governor’s Moloka`i Council of Advisors are Robert Granger, Sue Ann Hasegawa, Janice Kalanihuia, Jersula Manaba, Marlene Purdy and Charlotte Seales.
