 Five-Point Economic Plan Strengthens Economy  

Asia Trips Key to Economic Recovery

Building on the momentum of the Administration's five-point economic action plan to stimulate Hawai`i's economy, the Governor will be traveling to Taiwan and China, where she will promote travel to Hawai`i and seek increases in flights from Asia in meetings with key tourism and airline leaders. She is also meeting with Asia-Pacific leaders at the East-West Center International Conference in Indonesia to focus on strengthening and developing mutually-beneficial partnerships.

Recognizing the success of the Hawai`i Clean Energy Initiative, the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices has selected the State of Hawai`i to participate in its Policy Academy on Advanced Energy Strategies for Buildings.

Quarter Launched

Joined by U.S. Mint Director Ed Moy and members of the Hawai`i Commemorative Quarter Advisory Commission, Governor Lingle launched the Hawai`i commemorative quarter. The Governor and Director Moy were joined by hundreds of Hawai`i residents and coin collectors.
