State of Hawai`i Governor's Update for the Week of May 3-9, 2008

Public Invited to 
Comment on Legislation 

As part of the Lingle-Aiona Administration's comprehensive process of reviewing legislation passed this session by the Legislature, Governor Linda Lingle is encouraging the public to provide input and comments on more than 200 bills. The Governor has until July 8 to sign, veto or allow the measures to become law without her signature.

$400 million in general obligation bonds this week.

Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard


Governor Lingle honored Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard's 100 years of service to the U.S. Navy and the State of Hawai`i during a ceremony at the State Capitol.

Kids Day 


The Governor joined KSSK's Michael W. Perry and Larry Price, in selling special edition "Kids Day" Honolulu Advertiser newspapers to benefit Parents and Children Together.
