As part of the Lingle-Aiona Administration's efforts to invest in critical infrastructure improvements, and in keeping with the National Governors Association's focus for 2009, Governor Lingle released $70 million for the long-overdue repair and modernization of infrastructure statewide.

Waiting Lot Opens at HNL

 

The Department of Transportation opened a second cell phone waiting area at Honolulu International Airport (HNL) to allow motorists to park for free while they wait for a cell phone call from passengers on arriving flights.

Preserve Waimea Valley

 

Sailors assigned to the Navy amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) cleared debris from a path that had been overrun by vines at Waimea Valley botanical gardens on O`ahu's North Shore.

Lions International Youth
Camp Students Welcomed

 

Governor Lingle welcomed students from 13 nations around the world who are participating in the Hawai`i Lions International Youth Camp, a four-week program designed to foster international understanding and goodwill.
