Governor Unveils Two-Year Budget, Six-Year Plan

Governor Lingle submitted to the State Legislature a biennium operating budget for fiscal years 2010 and 2011. The budget was prepared with three major goals in mind: to preserve essential services, to continue to invest in resources that are part of the Administration's long-term priorities, and to avoid the layoff of any existing government employee.

DLNR Presents 2009
Historic Sites Calendar

In keeping with tradition, the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) has released its annual calendar.  The 2009 Historic Sites calendar, "Plants & Places - The Flora of Hawai`i," features native plants in Hawai`i that are known for their connections to a specific area.

A Special Holiday Message from the Governor

"There is a bright side to the challenges we now face as a state, and that is the opportunities they have provided for those of us on different sides of the political aisle and from the public, private and nonprofit sectors to work together," the Governor said in a special message.

Cadets Receive Second Chance, Fresh Start

Governor Lingle presided over a graduation ceremony for 81 cadets who graduated from the Hawai`i National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Academy. The program provides youth with a second chance to obtain their high school diploma and develop skills to be successful in the community.
